Advent isn’t just the countdown to Christmas; it’s about preparing ourselves for the final “Christmas” when Christ shall come again. As such Advent has a feeling all of it’s own which often gets lost at this time of year. In addition to the readings and sermons at the Sunday Eucharists we explore the season of Advent through the Advent Course.
Come and enjoy some pre-Christmas tea, chat and Bible study:
- Monday 21st November at 7.30pm in the Annexe.
- Monday 28th November at 7.30pm in the Annexe.
- Monday 5th December at 7.30pm in the Annexe.
- Monday 12th December at 7.30pm in the Annexe.
The Advent prayer “Amen. Come Lord Jesus” is what Advent is about. It is about preparing to meet Jesus both now and in the future. In the Advent Course this year we will be exploring how we already meet Jesus in our lives. To help our thoughts we will be looking at four famous Victorian religious paintings. I guarantee everyone will know at least one of them!
Everyone welcome.
