We are a small group who try to maintain and extend the biodiversity of the churchyard. This is a rare undisturbed ground set within the housing and close mown grass of the local area.
Church yard in early morning
We organise activities such as Bat Walks and guided tours to find interesting plants and graves and conduct bird surveys.
We have:
  • worked closely with Bracknell Forest Council and are trying to work within the local biodiversity plan to encourage especially the Devils Bit Scabious long since here.
  • introduced Cowslips and are hoping also to sow Ragged Robin from locally harvested seed.
  • worked too with the Church Working Party many of whose tasks further our aims.
We would welcome new members who:
  • would bring good ideas to develop our work
  • would bring skills to undertake surveys of:
  • Churchyard left of main entrance
      • plants
      • lichens
      • mosses
      • invertebrates
      • small mammals
      • birds.
For further information contact Diane Collins via the Parish Office.
We hold occasional informal meetings as and when necessary and in one of the Group members’ homes when we discuss current Living Churchyard activities and make plans for the future.
