Daily Prayers will take place in the Parish Centre until further notice
As a church we join in the great cycle of prayer which is offered by Christians from around the world and in different denominations. In our Daily Offices we enter into a pattern of prayer which has been offered by the church for almost 2000 years. It is a pattern of praise and reflection rooted in the Bible which began in monastic life but now is part of the prayer and praise of countless churches.
Most weekdays we have Morning Prayer at 8.30am and Evening Prayer at 5.00pm. This is either in the Church or the Parish Centre (it is warmer in the latter in the winter months!).
On occasions the service does not happen so if you want to join us on a particular day it is best to check with one of the Clergy that it is happening that day.
The service we use is a sequence of canticles (said hymns of praise), Bible readings and Psalms. We use the particular Office of the Fransican Order but it is very similar to that used in many other churches.
At the end of the service we have a time when we offer to God the places and people of our parish and the activities of our church. If there is someone or something particular that you would like us to remember in our prayers, if you us your concern we will include it in our prayers.
Even if it is just the clergy offering this prayer and praise, we are offering it on behalf of the whole parish.
