The Progressive Christian Group meets to discuss our Christian beliefs and doubts, in response to news events, research and present-day informed opinions.
We make use of thoughts expressed in various types of publication such as books, pamphlets, video recordings, radio and TV broadcasts, topical news items.
Anyone who is interested to find out more about the Group is most welcome to join us. We meet at 8pm. in the homes of various of the group members on the second Wednesday of each month, except August. There is no obligation to offer one's home for a meeting.
The discussions are open-minded, good humoured and fun. Members have the opportunity to express any opinion knowing it will receive respect, if not agreement. The evenings are friendly, jovial and thought-provoking, especially if some-one feels able to take a radical view in order to encourage debate. Discussion is helped along by a few refreshments.
This formula has enabled the group to tackle various controversial subjects in candid and caring ways and has helped the faith of group members to develop and grow.
