School Governor

St Michael’s School needs a PCC Foundation Governor

Particular role of Foundation Governors

Every Foundation Governor is appointed to represent the Foundation on the Governing Body and is an important link between Church and School.  As with all Governors, they provide the strategic direction for the school, hold the Head teacher to account and ensure that the school budget is well spent.

Governors’ Commitments are to:

Attend evening meetings of:

  • Full Governing Body which meets 4 times per year
  • Committees, a minimum of 3 times per year.

These Committees are

  • Finance and HR;
  • Church School and Community,
  • Curriculum and Effectiveness

Undertake training, visit the school regularly to see and report on it ‘in action’.

All applications are welcome especially if you have experience of Health & Safety or of committees and working in groups driving improvement and change.

You qualify if you are:

a Christian, able to support the Anglican Foundation, and a member of a church which is in communion with Churches Together in England and Wales.  (See their members’ list at their website);

living in Easthampstead or Bracknell Parishes or on their Electoral Roll;

connected with the school or believe you can contribute to its development.
