Young People's Communion and Confirmation

First Communion

Children are able to take Holy Communion when in Year 3 or above. They will need to come to a 'Communion before Confirmation' morning where we will have some fun exploring the meaning of Church and Holy Communion with them. 

The next Communion before Confirmation morning will be Saturday 18th June with the children taking their First Communion on 19th June at St Michael's or their own church (St Francis & St Clare/Church @ The Pines).  To register your child for this, please fill in a Registration Form and return it to the Parish Office.

The day starts with refreshments from 9:45 and the session begins at 10am.Hands kneading bread dough  We will all be sharing a special object at the beginning of our session and finish with a bring and share lunch.  There will various activities including making bread, Godly Play and learning how to take communion.  Please let us know if you have any allergies.  We should be finished by about 13:00.

Items to bring on the day - a object that has special meaning to you - you and your child will each need a object.  Lunch to share.  

This session is open to younger siblings and  godparents too.

Young people can be confirmed in the Church of England from the age of 13. In preparation for this there will be a short course where we will explore the Christian faith together. In our parish, Confirmation services usually take place in October.  Please contact the Parish Office for more information.
