Our Easthampstead branch in recent years have raised funds for:-
•   Bikes to be used by Overseas Workers
•   Away From It All holiday breaks,
•   Carpet in the Church annexe
•   Table used at weddings
•   Adult literacy project in Africa
•   Knitted baby blankets for Reading hospitals
•   Collected Easter Eggs for Banardos
•   Collected toiletries for Womans refuge
•   Making quiet toy-bags for children attending church

We are also called upon to arrange funeral refreshments and have a stall of home produce at the fete. Life with the Mothers Union is special. We help people locally and further afield and enjoy doing our bit.

We are always delighted to welcome new members to the Mothers’ Union, all our meetings are open. You don't even have to be a woman to come along feel rewarded and make a difference. Our meetings vary from month to month with guest speakers, activities, updates on Mothers Union, also tea and coffee and chat and of course prayer. As our meetings are open and our group age ranges from 30-90 it gives you a chance to get to know many different people within our church. We meet at 7.40pm on the third Wednesday of every month in the Church annexe.

Choir

Music plays a very large role in the worship at our church. A traditional robed voluntary choir sing at our weekly 9:30am Sunday Eucharist and on other special occasions such as evensong, holy week and our carol service at Christmas. Choir practice is on a Thursday evening from 7.30pm.

Junior Choir

Junior choir encourages children to learn how to sing and develop their musical ability. Practice consists of short activities with preparing music for occasional services. We encourage children to get involved in all types of music. Choir practice runs from 6.30pm on a Thursday evening.

Bellringers

We are a group of bellringers of all ages, who meet regularly to ring the bells at Easthampstead Church. We ring before the main service on Sunday morning, between 8.55 -9.30am, and practice every Thursday evening 7.30 - 9pm. We welcome new members, both those who can already ring church bells, and anyone who is interested in learning to ring. We're happy to teach people who have never rung a chuch bell before. We are a friendly, sociable group of people, aged from those in their teens, to their 80's who all enjoy church bellringing. As well as ringing the bells here at Easthampstead, there are opportunities to ring at other local towers, and we also go on ringing outings to churches further afield.

Church Work Party

We are a friendly group of volunteers who enjoy the fellowship of working together and (with the help of our volunteer church cleaners and flower arrangers) we try very hard to keep our buildings and churchyard looking at their best. We carry out simple maintenance and gardening tasks in and around the church, the churchyard and the Parish Centre. Do you enjoy fresh air and exercise in convivial company? Are you interested in exploring the practicalities of church upkeep (or just meeting members of the congregation) in an informal situation?  Can you spare two or three hours on a Saturday morning to help?  If so, we could be just the group for you.

We meet monthly (normally on the third Saturday of each month) in the Church Car Park.  We normally start at 9.30 and aim to finish around 12.30.  About halfway through the morning we take a break for coffee and biscuits and some convivial chat in the Annexe. There is always plenty of work for willing hands but we never seem to get to the bottom of our list of jobs to do!  So we are always pleased to welcome new members to our group.

Flower Arrangers

We are a group of enthusiastic volunteers and we arrange flowers for the church. The flowers are frequently sponsored by those wishing to recognise a special birthday, anniversary, in memory of a loved one or simply because they like to see nice flowers in Church. We warmly welcome anyone who would like to join our number, experienced or novice.
